Fifty years ago, Denise Larcombe imagined a ‘fantasy’ project: a wineglass with a pressed amber stem and a hand-blown clear cup, a design that could not be manufactured at Crown Corning, Australia’s largest glass producer at the time.
To celebrate the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta, Maison Balzac has collaborated with Denise, one of Australia’s pre-eminent industrial designers to finally bring Le Verre to life. Unearthed from the museum’s collection of over 500,000 objects, the project brings together generations of Australian glass design—a pairing worth raising a glass to.
